Auburn Community Leaves Inspirational Notes on Home Being Built for a Veteran and his Family

A military family gets a chance to start their new life in Auburn, in a brand new home, thanks to Operation Finally Home.

U.S. Army Sgt. Adam Lee and his family of four get a custom-built, mortgage-free home.

But, along with that, something else.

Operation Finally Home encouraged the Auburn community to stop by and write inspirational words of support and encouragement on the bones of their new home.

One neighbor, whose uncle was a WWII veteran, shared with WLTZ what she wrote on their wall:

“The sacrifice and how wonderful it is for the veterans and what they do for our country and I expressed how it was special to me because of my Uncle Bill,” said Billie Jetton.

The Lee’s were surprised with the news of their new home during the the Mississippi/ Auburn football game on October 7, 2017.

The builders hope to have their home finished by May 2018.
