The Heat Is On
Little To No Wet Weather
Record high temperatures will continue more days than not throughout the rest of this work-week. A large dome of high pressure over the southwest Atlantic will see to the heat remaining put, along with keeping a cap on the atmosphere. While a lone thundershower may develop over the Florida panhandle and drift northward, most places won’t have that occur for the next several days.
Meanwhile, heavy showers and thunderstorms will form along the western and northern edge of the high pressure system noted above. That will produce flooding in some areas from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes. It will likely take a reconfiguration and weakening of the southwest Atlantic high pressure system to eventually get bona fide rain and thunderstorms into our backyard. Look for that to happen later this weekend.
