Markale Hart Plead Guilty to Manslaughter Charge in Shooting Death of Auburn Football Player in 2014

Markale Hart, the man accused of killing an Auburn University football player, plead guilty to manslaughter Friday.

Hart is accused of shooting and killing Auburn football player Jakell Mitchell at Tiger Lodge Apartments in 2014.

According to Lee County District Attorney Brandon Hughes, Hart was sentenced to a 10 year split with three years probation.

Hughes said the time he’s already spent in jail, counts toward that sentence.

Hart’s first trial in December 2017 ended in a hung jury.
