Humidity, Rain & Thunderstorms, Oh My!
Tranquil Start To Weekend, But Ending Rough
A flood watch is in effect for parts of the areas this weekend.
A shower will dot the landscape this evening; otherwise clouds will hang around all night with areas of fog developing late. While there can be spots of drizzle associated with the fog Saturday morning, most of the time will be free of rain.
A stray thundershower cannot be ruled out Saturday afternoon, but if you have outdoor plans, it’s best to get them in. The reason is heavy pockets of rain forming near the Gulf Coast, moving northeastward into the Plains and Chattahoochee Valley; the worst of which will likely occur Saturday evening through Sunday. Rain will be heavy enough to create flooding in areas of poor drainage.
Additional storms early next week will aggravate existing flooding problems before things begin to calm down by the middle of next week. Stay safe.
