Dangerous Black Ice

Brutal Start To Wednesday

The axis of our latest storm will move through and east of the Chattahoochee Valley near, or just after daybreak, Wednesday.  However, the initial melting of snow, combined with temperatures falling from above freezing to well below freezing will create a nightmare scenario in the black ice department.   Upwards of an inch accumulation of snow is expected, with isolated 2″ amounts before taping off to insignificant flurries Wednesday morning.   There will be less accumulation on paved surfaces due to some melting, but once again, the ice is the biggest problem.

Sunshine will be quick to return Wednesday, but cold, gusty winds will make it feel like its below freezing all day!

More tranquil and milder weather trickles in Thursday and Friday.  Above average temperatures are expected this weekend through next week.   Stay safe, and stay warm.
