ASTON MARTIN RECALLS MORE THAN 5,000 VEHICLES DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS
(CNN) – James Bond may not worry about safety, but auto industry regulators do.
Aston Martin, the maker of 007’s luxury sports cars is recalling thousands of vehicles in the U.S. due to safety concerns.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 3,500 of the vehicles are being recalled over concerns about the power train.
The NHTSA says the issue quote, “can cause the transmission park pawl not to engage.”
The concern is that the vehicle could roll away if it is parked on an incline without the parking brake engaged.
Aston Martin is also recalling nearly 2,000 vehicles due to a fire risk involving the battery cables.
The automaker has not immediately responded to requests for comment.
