Rain and Isolated Thunderstorms Wednesday

Cool Down in time for Christmas?

Expect showers and possible thunderstorms this afternoon with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

There is a marginal risk for severe weather for the northern fringe of the viewing area. (Chambers, Troup, Meriwether)

Isolated severe thunderstorms, winds in excess of 60mph, hail up to an inch, and a low risk for tornado activity are all possible.

If the sun is able to break through this afternoon, that heating effect will help increase the chances of thunderstorms and the severe threat.

Moving forward- Will it cool down for Christmas? Yes, it will.

Colder air will finally start to filter in Sunday with highs dropping into the upper 40s to low 50s and overnight lows in the low 30s and maybe some 20s.
