Senators to Introduce Cyber Threat Bill
BILL DESIGNED TO BATTLE INTERNATIONAL CYBER ATTACKS IN ELECTIONS HAS SUPPORT FROM A BIPARTISAN GROUP OF SENATORS.
(CNN) -A bill designed to battle international cyber threats has support from both sides of the aisle.
Republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma says a bi-partisan group of senators will introduce the legislation early next week.
Its goal is to improve communication between Federal Intelligence agencies and state election officials to stem foreign intervention in elections.
Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrats Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris are supporting the bill.
It comes in the wake of Russia’s meddling in the 2016 elections.
