Thieves Caught on Camera smashing into Gun Shop

Flat Iron Arms Burglarized twice in the last Six Weeks

Thieves strike a local gun shop in a brazen attempt to burglarize the business.

Retired SFC Rodney Stariha thought opening a gun shop in East Alabama would be a good transition into civilian life but his shop has been targeted twice now in the past six weeks by thieves.

This time they were caught on camera up close, and in color ramming a stolen white truck into this store early this morning.

One of the suspect’s faces can clearly be seen in a still shot from the video.

After about 30 seconds inside the business, they left empty handed….again.

But not before causing several thousand dollars in damages.

Shooters in Columbus was also targeted during the holiday weekend, the suspect in that incident,  23 year old Devante Patterson is in custody awaiting a preliminary hearing.

The owner of Flat Iron Arms says weapons sold legally down south cannot be bought up north and money might be the motive for the break ins.

Lee County investigators are hoping someone will recognize the suspects from the surveillance video.

Stariha thinks this latest burglary attempt was carried out by the same suspects.
