Some Insurance Won’t Pay for New Cholesterol drugs

Some patients don’t have access to the cholesterol drugs they need.

A new study reveals many patients with very high cholesterol  can’t get medications that could help.

In fact, more than half failed to get insurance approval for a new class of drugs called PCSK9 inhibitors.

They work to remove bad cholesterol from the blood.

Many of these patients were considered to be at high risk for heart disease.
