Kids Having Fewer Ear Infections

VACCINES STOPPING EAR INFECTIONS

Back to school doesn’t have to mean back to ear infections.

Fewer children are getting ear infections thanks to vaccines  that protect against the bacteria that cause them.

Researchers at Rochester Regional Health found a significant drop in ear infection cases after the pneumococcoal vaccine was introduced in 2000.

The four dose series is given at 2, 4, 5 and  12 months of age.
