Teens Rescued After 3 Days in Paris Catacombs
TWO TEENAGERS HAVE BEEN TREATED IN THE HOSPITAL FOR HYPOTHERMIA AFTER SPENDING THREE DAYS LOST IN THE CATACOMBS UNDER PARIS
(CNN) – Two teenagers ended a trip to the catacombs under Paris with a trip to the hospital.
The 16-year old and 17-year-old boys spent three days lost in what was once known as the “empire of the dead.”
The late 18th century tunnel network stretches approximately 150 miles under Paris and contains the remains of around six million people.
Search crews with sniffer dogs found the boys Wednesday in the rescue.
The teenagers were treated in the hospital for hypothermia.
The catacombs are a popular tourist attraction, but most tunnels remain closed off to the public.
