Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Park

FLOODING LEAVES PARK UNDER WATER AND SOME CONCERNED ABOUT THE RISKS

Morrow, GA (WSB) – Three days of heavy rain and storms have left Morrow’s Paradise Park looking more like a lake.

The basketball court and playground areas are surrounded by water.

One woman who lives in the neighborhood says heavy rain regularly leaves this park under water.

But she’s worried about what the standing water leaves behind after the water recedes.

Resident Geneva Moore explains, “I’m worried about the kids coming out here… after the rain… dries up a little… it’s really… really horrible. Children come out here to play it’s full of fungus… it’s full of mold.”

The park is surrounded by several creeks and streams and sits in a bowl which seems to make some flooding unavoidable, but neighbors say something needs to be done.
