Heavy Rain to Start Week; Cooler and Drier to End It

HEAVY RAINFALL, FLOODING POSSIBLE MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

After some parts of the area saw heavy rainfall over the weekend, another in a series of impulses will approach the area Monday afternoon, bringing a renewed chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for our Alabama counties until Tuesday evening, with a watch likely to be issued for some of our Georgia counties once the event draws closer.

A cold front will stall over the area Tuesday, bringing more in the way of showers and storms with some heavy rainfall possible.

The front will begin to finally clear the area Wednesday, with drier and cooler air behind it for the last half of the week.

Highs will be in the 80s for the first part of the week and the upper 70s to near 80 for Thursday and Friday behind the front.

Morning lows will range from the upper 60s and lower 70s Monday and Tuesday nights in the humid air mass to the mid to upper 50s Thursday and Friday mornings in the drier conditions.
