Columbus Girls Lead Field After Day One of State Golf Tournament


The Columbus girls golf team is at the top of the leader board heading into the final round of the GHSA 4A State Tournament.

The Lady Blue Devils lead all teams with a 239, three strokes ahead of 2nd place Woodward. Mary Catherine McDaniel was the team’s low scorer with a 75 and is in a tie for 3rd individually.

Northside is at the bottom of the leader board with a team score of 335. Landon Cumbie was their low scorer with a 100.

LaGrange golfer Blakely Arp shot an 82. She’s the only competitor from the school.

The final round of the state tournament will be held at Maple Ridge in Columbus on Tuesday, May 23d.
