Columbus Boys Lead Field After Day One of State Golf Tournament

4A STATE TOURNAMENT BEING HELD IN COLUMBUS

The Columbus boys golf team is on their way to grabbing a second straight state championship.

After day one of the GHSA 4A State Tournament, the Blue Devils ended with a team score of 279 to sit in first place and 15 strokes ahead of second place Marist. Jonathan Parker was the low scorer for Columbus with a 68 and is tied for 2nd individually. Ben Carr and Nolan Miller shot a 69 and are in a three way tie for 4th.

Northside is in a tie for 8th with Richmond Academy. Cole Kirkland was their low scorer of the day with a 75.

LaGrange is currently in 12th. Their low scorer of the day was Hudson Graham with a 75.

The 2nd and final round is set to take place at the Country Club of Columbus on Tuesday, May 23rd.
