Columbus State’s Jalen Tolbert Earns Peach Belt Honors

Columbus State Track athlete Jalen Tolbert has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Tolbert ran the second leg of the 4×100 relay and helped the Cougars set an NCAA automatic qualifying time at the 2017 Aggie Last Chance meet. The team covered the distance in 40.14 seconds, becoming one of only three 4×100 teams to hit the automatic mark.

He also ran on the 4×400 team that hit an NCAA provisional mark. Tolbert ran the opening leg of the 4×400 relay as CSU had a time of 3:13.58, fastest in the PBC this season and one of two NCAA provisional marks in the conference.

Tolbert also holds NCAA provisional marks in the 100 and 200.

Tolbert is currently a senior with the Cougars and is originally from Kendrick High School.
