Playoff Baseball Recap: Friday, May 5th

ALABAMA AND GEORGIA TEAMS IN ACTION ON FRIDAY, MAY 5TH

Playoffs continued for area teams on Friday, May 5th as baseball games took place all over.

In the GHSA 4A bracket, Columbus was eliminated from the playoffs by Blessed Trinity after a 6-1 loss in game three of their series.

Also in the 4A bracket, Hardaway beat Troup County in game one 4-1 while Troup County picked up the 4-2 win in game two. Game three will be Saturday at 3pm.

In the GHSA 2A bracket, Callaway fell to Dodge County 8-2 in game one and 3-2 in game two to be eliminated from the playoffs..

In the GHSA A-Public bracket, Schley County postponed their series with Trion to Saturday due to wet field conditions. The winner of this series will play Taylor County in the quarterfinals.

In the GICAA semifinals, Calvary Christian was eliminated by Mount Bethel after 1-0 and 3-2 losses.

In the AISA-AAA semifinals, Glenwood beat Monroe 5-2 in game three of their series to advance to the State Championship. They’ll play Pike Liberal Arts next Wednesday in a doubleheader in Montgomery with a third game if needed on Thursday.

In the AHSAA 7A bracket, Auburn fell to McGill-Toolen 10-0 in game one but beat McGill-Toolen 9-6 in game two. Game three will be Saturday.

In the AHSAA 5A bracket, Beauregard fell to Rehobeth 9-2 in game one but beat them 27-3 in game two. Game three will be Saturday at 12/11c.
