Area Players Named to AHSAA All-Star Team Rosters


The 2017 North-South All-Star rosters were announced by the AHSAA with a few area players making the list for baseball and softball.

A total of 72 outstanding juniors–18 on each team–were chosen from nominations submitted by high school coaches from across the state to participate at the 21st annual AHSAA Summer Conference and AHSADCA All-Star Games competition in Montgomery July 17-21st.

The North-South baseball doubleheader will be at Riverwalk Stadium on Tuesday, July 18, with the first game set for 4 p.m. The second game will following 30 minutes after its conclusion at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Making the roster were Central catcher Slade Gorman and Auburn High pitcher Drew Jennings.

Lagoon Park will host the North-South softball all-star games at 6 and 8 p.m., respectively, on Tuesday, July 18th.

Making the roster were Beauregard catcher/3rd baseman Brett Parker and Central pitcher Gracie Deaton.
