Fairfield Fire Chief Killed in Wreck on I-59

FIRE CHIEF KILLED WHEN SEMI SMASHES INTO CARS

Birmingham, AL (WBRC) – Friends and loved ones are mourning the death of a Fairfield, Alabama fire chief who died in an interstate crash.

Kevin Sutton was traveling with his wife and daughter Sunday, when an 18-wheeler crossed the median and crashed into at least two vehicles.

Sutton was 54 years old and had been with the department for 25 years.

His wife and daughter were taken to a nearby hospital.

No word on their condition.

Police say rainy weather and wet roads were a factor. Investigators are now trying to piece together exactly how the accident happened.
