Pedestrian Fatally Hit in Opelika

OPELIKA POLICE TELL US A PEDESTRIAN ON FOX RUN PARKWAY WALKED INTO TRAFFIC MONDAY NIGHT.

A woman in Opelika was fatally struck by a car Monday night.

Opelika Police tell WLTZ First News at around 9:48pm, they received a call of a car crashing into a pedestrian on Fox Run Parkway.

Police said in a news release that the crash involved a 2014 Chevrolet Impala and a pedestrian.

According to the police department’s preliminary investigation they’ve revealed, “The Impala was traveling north on Fox Run Parkway. The pedestrian was walking south on Fox Run Parkway, in the northbound right turn lane. The pedestrian entered the roadway in front of the Impala, which caused the Impala to strike the pedestrian.”

The identity of the woman has not been released, as law enforcement work to notify her family.
