Auburn Softball Players Arrested on Marijuana Charges
NO WORD ON POTENTIAL DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Three Auburn softball players were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia Thursday morning, according to an AL.com report.
The players were shortstop Haley Fagan, outfielder Brittany Maresette , and pitcher Makayla Martin.
Fagan is a fifth year senior with a .323 average. She found herself in the spotlight earlier this year after a somewhat heated exchange with Florida head coach Tim Walton following an Auburn win.
Martin has a 16-5 record and started against Kennesaw State Wednesday, a game which the Tigers won 7-3.
So far Auburn has not released an official statement following the incident. The Tigers open a three game road series at South Carolina beginning Friday night.
