Glenwood Honors Tim Fanning by Naming Baseball Field After Him

Seven AISA state championships and more than 450 wins.

It’s safe to say the Glenwood baseball program has been a success under Head Coach and Athletic Director Tim Fanning.

If that wasn’t enough, Fanning can now add something pretty special to his resume.

Last Thursday, the school announced the baseball facility was getting a new title… Tim Fanning Field.

The Coach was surprised in a ceremony between games where old players and current student-athletes thanked him for all he’s done.

Fanning said he was in complete shock and is nothing but thankful for the honor.

“Yea know being in one place for so long and basically giving your life to one place and to be honored like that, I really was just blown away,” he said.

“Definitely came in here as a little punk freshman who thought I ran the world and knew everything and he changed me real quick,” said senior shortstop Brandon Moseley. “It wasn’t always easy but he grew me into a man slowly but surely and I couldn’t appreciate it more.”

Fanning has been head coach of the Gators since 2004.
