Phone Calls on Planes/FCC Chair Against it

FCC CHAIR COMES OUT AGAINST PHONE CALLS ON AIRPLANES

(CNN) – If you’ve been dreading the day people on airplanes can talk on their cell phones… Fear not!

Seems you may have a powerful friend in Washington; the chairman of the FCC.

Ajit Pai says he’d like to stop a proposal that would allow cell calls on planes.

In a statement, Pai said he sides with airline pilots, flight attendants, and Smerica’s flying public against what he calls the FCC’s ill-conceived plan.

In 2013, the FCC proposed relaxing the rules against cell phone use on planes and asked for public comment.

The public was not quiet.

The FCC chairman now answering yes to that famous question, “Can you hear me now?”
