Government Offices and Businesses Also Close

Schools, businesses, and government offices and agencies are closed because of severe weather forecasted for Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

 

Georgia schools which have announced closings include:

Columbus State University – ​Closed Wednesday

Columbus Technical College – ​Closed Wednesday

Georgia Southwestern State University – ​Closed Wednesday

Muscogee County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

All Fort Benning Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

Brookstone School – ​Closed Wednesday

Hallie Turner Private School – ​Closed Wednesday

St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School – Closed Wednesday

St. Lukes Schools – Closed Wednesday

Harris County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

Schley County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

Talbot County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

Taylor County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

Webster County Schools – ​Closed Wednesday

 

Alabama schools which have announced closings include:

Auburn University – Classes Cancelled Wednesday

Southern Union State Community College – Closed Wednesday

Barbour County Schools – Closed Wednesday

Chambers County Schools – Closed Wednesday

Chattahoochee Valley Community College – Closed Wednesday

Eufaula City Schools – Closed Wednesday

Glenwood School – Closed Wednesday

Lanett City Schools – Closed Wednesday

Lee County Schools – Closed Wednesday and extra curricular activities canceled Friday and Saturday

Opelika City Schools – Closed Wednesday

Phenix City Schools – Closed Wednesday and all after school and extracurricular activities are cancelled

Russell County Schools – Closed Wednesday

 

Other Closings include:

Early Head Start and Head Start programs across East Alabama and West Central Georgia are closed today.

Most government offices and agencies are closed Wednesday.

Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center – First and Second Shifts non-essential personnel do not report for duty on Wednesday.
