Wednesday Night Weather Forecast

A pleasant evening is in store for Wednesday night. Light winds and clear skies will provide the perfect conditions for radiational cooling to take full effect with lows in the 40s areawide. Thursday will be the warmest day out of the next eight, with highs in the middle 70s with some upper 70s certainly possible in the southern part of our viewing area in locales such as Eufaula and Americus.

A chance of showers and storms will be in the cards for Friday, especially in the first half of the day, as a quick moving impulse traverses the area.

An interesting weekend of weather is in store for the Southeast. Low pressure will move into the region Saturday night into Sunday, pulling down colder air as it travels through. Rain may mix with and change to snow in parts of extreme north Alabama and Georgia, with accumulating snowfall more likely further north into Tennessee and the Carolinas.

The storm system will signal a pattern change, with much colder weather in store for next week. Models are showing freezing temperatures possible by the middle of next week, which could cause damage to some of the vegetation that has budded early as a result of the unseasonably warm temperatures in the past several weeks.

Keep it here as we refine the forecast and provide more details heading into next week!
