Opelika PD Arrest Man, One Day After Auburn PD Arrest Him on Separate Charge

Opelika police arrested a man they’ve been looking for, just one day after Auburn police arrested him on a separate incident.

19-year-old Rodriques Pitts was arrested first, for shooting into an empty house in the 1100 block of N. Uniroyal Rd. back in January. He then stole personal items, electronics and jewelry from that home.

No one was injured during that incident.

Pitts was charged with discharging a firearm into an unoccupied dwelling or vehicle, burglary in the 3rd degree and theft of property 2nd degree.

But, on Wednesday, Pitts was arrested by Auburn Police on a felony warrant charging him with theft of property in the 1st degree.

The arrest came from an investigation into an auto theft that happened in the 800 block of Bedell Ave. on February 23. A 2000 Toyota Camry valued at $5,000 was stolen, according to the APD Press Release.

Pitts was in the Lee County Jail eligible for a $5,000.

Pitts in back in the Lee County jail, now, awaiting another bond or trial.
