Women’s Choice Awards Recognizes St. Francis Hospital

Heart and Stroke Care and satisfaction cited in news release

The Women’s Choice Awards recognizes St. Francis Hospital as one of America’s Best Heart and Americia’s Best Stroke Care Centers.

A news release provided by the hospital, details the recognition. It says the award signifies that out of the 4,789 hospitals that specialize in heart and stroke care in America, St. Francis is one of the nation’s best.

“These two awards demonstrate the tremendous commitment and expertise of St. Francis Hospital’s caregivers to ensuring that our cardiac and stroke patients receive the best possible care and treatment,” said David Koontz, Chief Executive Officer.

For the heart care recognition, St. Francis hospital was chosen America’s Best for:

  • St. Francis offers all six of the cardiac/vascular services required
  • St. Francis scored higher than national average on patient recommendations

For the stroke care recognition, St. Francis succeeded as the top 80% nationally for provision of stroke education for patient and family and scored top 80% nationally for the time from first symptoms to receiving thrombolytic therapy.
