Auburn Man Arrested for Stealing from Unlocked Vehicle

AUBURN, AL (WLTZ) — Another unlocked car door lead to a car break-in in Auburn, but police caught the suspect.

On Monday, they arrested David White, 32, for breaking into a car on Maple Street in January.

APD said the victim’s car was unlocked when White got in and stole credit cards and electronics valued over $500.

Further investigation revealed White on surveillance video using the stolen credit cards at two businesses on N. Dean Road shortly after the auto burglary.

On Monday an Opelika police officer spotted White at a business in Opelika. He was taken into custody and transported to the Auburn police division.

White is at the Lee County Jail on an $8,000 bond.
