Countdown Begins For The Winter Olympics In South Korea
1 Year Until the Winter Games in PyeongChang
South Korea today (Wednesday) marked the start of the one year countdown to the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Despite recent political turmoil in the country, the PyeongChang Olympics will likely be well-organized and ready to go, especially when compared with the recent games in Rio de Janeiro and Sochi, which saw swirling human rights, environmental and political crises.
PyeongChang is an alpine ski resort town of 43-thousand people about 110 miles east of Seoul.
It’s the second Olympics to be held in South Korea, with Seoul hosting the 1988 summer games.
You can watch the games locally on WLTZ.
