Selling stolen clothes at local business leads to the arrest of Auburn man

On Sunday, January 15, 2017 the Auburn Police Division arrested Antonio M. Hutchinson, age 28 from Auburn on warrants charging him with Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property Fourth Degree.

The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation by Auburn Police into an auto burglary that occurred on November 2, 2016 at a residence in the 300 Block of E. Longleaf Drive. According to the victim, some unknown person(s) entered their 2006 Nissan Altima, while it was parked at their residence and stole several items of clothing.

Further investigation by Auburn Police resulted in Hutchinson being developed as a suspect; he was captured on video surveillance shortly after the auto burglary selling the clothing items at a local business. Detectives obtained arrest warrants on Hutchinson charging him with Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property Fourth Degree. He was subsequently located by officers and taken into custody.

Hutchinson was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $4,000 bond.
