Man charged in connection to several auto burglaries

PRESS RELEASE

On Friday, January 13, 2017 Auburn Police arrested Courtney Colley, age 38 from Montgomery on twelve grand jury indictments charging him with six counts of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and six counts of Theft of Property Second Degree.

The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation by Auburn Police into auto burglaries that were reported in October 2013 that occurred in several parking lots downtown during a home Auburn University football game. Colley, who was developed as a suspect in the cases, is the last of the three defendants to be charged and arrested.

Colley was taken into custody by Auburn Police after being released from custody at the Elmore County Correctional Facility, where he was being held on similar, but unrelated charges. He was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility where he is currently being held on a $36,000 bond.
