PRESS RELEASE
On behalf of the Mayor’ Ball for Education and Charity Committee, it is with great pleasure that we announce the student’s receiving the Dual Enrollment Awards from proceeds of the 2016 Mayor’s Ball for Education and Charity.
This year, we will be presenting 16 students from Central High School and Glenwood School with the additional funds allow them to participate in the Dual Enrollment program at Chattahoochee Valley Community College available through their schools. The Students will be present at the January 18, 2017 Phenix City Council Meeting to be held at 9:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers, located in the PUblic Safety Building at 1111 Broad Street.
The 2016 Mayor’s Ball for Education and Charity raised over $100,000, bringing the three year total to $193,000. Those donations have enabled us to provide additional funds to 56 graduates of Central High School and Glenwood School for their college careers, funding to non-profit organizations in our community, and this year will have provided a total of 29 Dual Enrollment award to high school students to help them get a head start on college.
Please join us as we present the awards and thank those that have helped us provide these opportunities to children of our community.
