Boy finds burned body in woods

13-year-old finds burned body in Whitfield County

Whitfield County, GA (WTVC) – The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office says a homicide investigation is underway after a 13-year-old boy found a burned body in a wooded area.

The body was found near Ellis Road Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies believe the body was dumped in the woods then set on fire.

There’s no confirmed identity; the body was taken to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
