Bobby Howard elected to NHSBCA Hall of Fame

Longtime area baseball coach Bobby Howard is once again receiving national honors.

According to the National High School Baseball Coaches Association website, Howard has been selected as one of two 2017 inductees to their Hall of Fame.

Howard began coaching at Columbus High School back in 1984 where he stayed in that role for more than thirty years, winning 12 state titles.

In 2016, he moved across the border to Phenix City and is now the head coach of the Red Devils. In his first season as head coach, he guided Central to a 7A region championship and a playoff appearance.

Howard has already been honored by the Columbus State University Hall of Fame, the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame and the Chattahoochee Valley Hall of Fame.
