Storm kills four people in Rehobeth home

Rehobeth, AL (WTVY) – At least five people were killed in severe storms that swept across the south Monday.

Four of them died after the storm spawned a tornado in Rehoboth, Alabama.

Officials say the victims were friends who were in a house that collapsed from the twister.

Paul Lee with the Alabama Legislature explains , “You know, there’s a lot of people that will be effected by this. And, of course, there’s a lot of great compassion there. We have great responders throughout this community that spend a lot of time here.”

A sheriff says the fifth victim is a man in Walton County, Florida, who drowned outside his home.

He was reportedly trying to evacuate his flooded house at the time.
