NEW YORK, July 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- EE Times has released The Silicon 60 Report, the electronic industry's preeminent research into the top, privately-held startups and companies active in the market.
The top 60 companies were selected based on a consideration of technology, intended market, financial position, investment profile, maturity, and executive leadership.
The latest edition (v15.1) includes 34 companies new to the Silicon 60, focused on technologies ranging from materials, IP cores, memory technology, processors, wireless for communications, location and energy transfer, power semiconductors, audio, and MEMS sensors to the Internet of Things.
EE Times has been publishing the Silicon 60 Report since April 2004. "There is a lot of turnover on the list this year, with over one-third of the companies that appeared in the last ranking dropping out this year," said EE Times Executive Editor Susan Rambo. "Some have ceased operations, while others remained privately held but became mature or were sold."
