High school keeps transgender policy

Posted: Updated:
Louisville, KY (WDRB) - A controversial policy will remain in place at Louisville's Atherton High School.

The policy allows transgender students to use the restrooms and locker rooms of their choice.

Atherton's principal, Thomas Aberli, says the school's site-based-decision making council rejected an appeal of the policy Tuesday.

Some parents protested after the council approved the policy last month.

They argued the decision violated the law and brought worries for safety and liability.
