Opelika Couple Charged with Trafficking Cocaine

On 05/08/14 at approximately 8:30 A.M., members of the Opelika Police Department’s Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Columbus Parkway. During the search, detectives recovered approximately seventy (70) grams of powder cocaine and “crack” cocaine. The recovered cocaine has a street value of approximately $6,000 according to narcotics detectives. Along with the cocaine several items used in the distribution of illegal narcotics were recovered and a small amount of money. Michael Tashun Holloway, 35 years old from Opelika, AL, and Laysonya Denise Johnson, 26 years old also from Opelika, AL, were arrested and both charged with Drug Trafficking (Cocaine). Both Holloway and Johnson have been booked into the Lee County Detention Center.
