Alabama House Speaker Honors 2013 Auburn Coach and Football Team

AUBURN - Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn) on Tuesday joined Representative Elaine Beech (D-Chatom), Senator Tom Whatley (R-Auburn), and Senator Clay Scofield (R in presenting resolutions to Auburn Football Coach Gus Malzahn and the 2013 Auburn Football Team in honor of their exemplary football season.

"There is no question that 2013 was a great year to be an Auburn Tiger," Hubbard said. "I'm extremely honored to serve the Loveliest Village on the Plains and am proud of the way our 2013 Southeastern Conference Champion Auburn Tigers represented the University on both the state and national levels."

Speaker Hubbard joined his colleagues in presenting two resolutions honoring the 2013 Auburn Tigers Football Team. House Joint Resolution 74 honored Coach Gus Malzahn for his tremendous leadership and devotion during his inaugural season. House Joint Resolution 66 congratulated the Auburn Tigers Football team for their handwork and dedication during the thrilling 2013 football season.

"We are very honored and humbled to receive these resolutions from the Alabama Legislature recognizing the accomplishments of our football program last season," said Auburn Football Coac Gus Malzahn. "We'd like to thank Speaker Hubbard, Representative Beech, Senators Whatley and Scofield, and Adjutant General Smith for presenting our team with these awards."

The presentation occurred during a monthly meeting of the Auburn Athletics Department.
