The sound of hammering nails filled the air in Southeast Columbus Monday. Students from several colleges decided to skip the traditional spring break beach activities and spend their week helping others.
The students are participating in Habitat for Humanity's annual Collegiate Challenge. They're lending a helping hand by building 4 homes for deserving families.
Students from The University of Pittsburgh, Washington College, The University of Western Kentucky, Emory University and Henry University are taking part in the building blitz.
Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity has already built 278 homes in its 30 year history.
