AUBURN - Aside from the headliners, there were other players who had lots to prove today. Take Demetruce McNeal who was kicked off Auburn's team in August for a misdemeanor marijuana charge...finishing his career at West Alabama. McNeal was allowed back to Auburn's Pro Day.
"I feel like I had a great performance. It was solid. I'm kind of happy with some of my numbers. I feel like I could have done better with a few numbers," McNeal says.
Unofficial results show that McNeal ran the 40 in 4.4 seconds. He says the scouts seemed happy with his performance.
"They like my lift, they like my speed. A lot of teams say I'm draftable, so we will see," McNeal says
As for not being on Auburn's team for the victorious 2013 season, McNeal says there's no hard feelings...actually quite the opposite.
"In my heart I'm still an Auburn Tiger. If I'm lucky enough to get drafted, God willing, I want them to say, 'Demetruce McNeal, Auburn University,'" McNeal says.
Former teammate Jay Prosch also trying to turn some heads...running the 40 in 4.72 seconds and putting up 27 reps on bench press.
