Prices rising at grocery store

Posted: Updated:

Winter weather and California's severe drought could drive up prices for some of your favorite grocery items.

Milk prices could rise as much as 50 cents a gallon in the next few months.

Experts blame rising demand in China and cold weather across the U.S. is making it more expensive for farmers to keep dairy cattle.

Beef is also about to get more expensive.

The U.S. Agriculture Department says fresh cuts of beef could reach an all-time high of more than five dollars a pound.

Dry conditions in California could also effect fruit and vegetable prices.
