PRESS RELEASE:

OPELIKA, AL - On 2/25/2014 the Opelika Police Department was notified of several vehicle break-ins and theft of property occurring at 1700 Lafayette Parkway (Opelika High School). Investigation revealed between 2/24/2014 (9:00 PM) and 2/25/2014 (6:48 AM) three vehicles had been broken into and a fourth vehicle had been stolen. The vehicles were parked in the front parking lot of the high school and entry was made into the vehicles by either prying open or breaking a window of the vehicle. There were several jackets, two Touch Screen CD players, two 12-inch sub-woofers, and a Pioneer Amplifier taken from the vehicles. The fourth vehicle, a 1985 red in color Chevrolet K10 pick-up truck, was taken from the parking lot. The truck has a cowl induction hood, and a six-inch suspension lift. It is unknown at this time how the vehicle was started and driven from the parking lot. The vehicles were left overnight due to the drivers attending a school function out of town. There are no suspects and the case is under investigation.
