According to Hardaway Head Football Coach Jeff Battles, star Runningback and Louisville commit Justin Crawford is no longer on the team.

"He's no longer with us," said Battles.

Battles made it clear that Crawford did not violate any team rules. A credible source said Crawford was too old to play next year, since the Junior turns 19 in February.

GHSA rules state:

"To be eligible to participate in interscholastic activities, a student must not have reached his 19th birthday prior to May 1st, preceding his year of participation."

Crawford was a huge part of the Hardaway offense, taking snaps at Quarterback, Runningback, Wide Receiver, and was the starting Punter and Kicker.

Last season, Crawford compiled over 1000 yards of total offense.

"We're just going to have some young guys step up," said Battles on the offense without Crawford.

"[Crawford] moved around a lot," said Battles. "So everybody just has to step up a little bit."

Hardaway (2-6) is on the road at Harris County (6-2) this week.
