EVANS, Ga. (AP) — Authorities in eastern Georgia say a man who was found dead after a car crash likely shot himself while he was driving.
Columbia County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris says the 22-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his head after his car hit a guardrail Tuesday morning.
Investigators have yet to release the man's identity and say his body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
Morris told the Augusta Chronicle no foul play is suspected in the man's death, and no one else was injured.
