Master Control Operator
WLTZ-NBC 38 has a full-time position open for a Master Control Operator. A Master Control Operator is responsible for operating the videotape recording and playback equipment for live programs and during commercial breaks in network and taped shows. Master Control Operators are responsible for checking traffic logs and making sure that what is scheduled to roll does so at its appointed time slot. The Master Control Operator is the last person in the quality control chain for all things that hit air. Frequently, that means he or she must check that items meet broadcast standards before they roll. They also time out programming segments and breaks for Traffic. The Master Control Operators must also know how to move and tune satellite equipment in order to record network updates and syndicated feeds. Most importantly, the Master Control Operator must be able to prevent the on-air signal from going to black and must know how to restore programming as quickly as possible when play out systems fail.
-High school diploma
-Previous experience a plus
