Pastor Hardman: "We need an alternative Beyonce"

Posted: Updated:

Columbus, GA (WLTZ) Pastor Ann Hardman of Faith Tabernacle in Columbus stopped by the NBC 38 studios to talk about the influence pop culture has on young women today.

Hardman says part of the problem is young people get one message in church, but it's not followed up at home with the parents and it's easy to see how young women end up emulating pop stars and others they see on TV. Hardman says women need better role models.

"I believe we need Christian role models that are in the media not just working in the news, but we need an alternative Beyonce. She's beautiful, but it would be great if we had a Christian one that could sing a different song with a different message that exemplified and gave God glory for.

Pastor Ann Hardman says she doesn't recite bible verses word for word when approached by young people instead she likes to explain how the scripture applies to their individual life circumstances.
