COLUMBUS, GA - Local authorities are on the lookout for the suspect in the city's tenth homicide of the year.

19-year-old Shakeim Malcolm Dorsey is wanted in connection to the murder of 28-year-old Derrick Miles. He is described as very skinny with long dreadlocks and is reported to usually be in the North Highland area and has family in the East Wynnton neighborhood. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police were called to the vicinity of 6th Avenue at 35th Street with reports of shots fired around 1:30 Friday afternoon, forcing an elementary school to go on lock down.

Police say it all started when an argument broke out between a male and female at 3413 C 6th Avenue. They say it grew into a fight involving several people, including Miles.

Officials say when Dorsey allegedly pointed a gun at Miles, Miles tried to run away. He was shot in the back and collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the Medical Center shortly after.

Dorsey left on foot and was last seen running north on 5th Avenue.

Anyone with information should call 911 or Columbus Police at (706) 653-3400.
