Northside Senior Goalkeeper Rachel Hawk is used to responsibility.
"I'm the last line of defense," said Hawk. "I have to keep their heads in the game, and also keep my head in the game as well."
Northside Head Girls' Soccer Coach, Elizabeth Keller, agrees.
"Oh absolutely, she takes anything that I throw at her," said Keller. "Especially being the goalkeeper, she's vocally got to be in charge back there, and she really steps up to the plate each and every time."
She's not just the starting goalie for Northside, but also, the picture of a role model in the classroom. Hawk makes all A's and has a GPA above 4.0.
"It's a big responsibility to be on a sports team and also go to school at the same time," said Hawk.
I think the younger girls look up to all our seniors, and look at our grades, and see what we're doing in the classroom. It's something that they can aspire to do when they're seniors as well."
"Rachel's the epitome of an ideal Senior," said Coach Keller. "Both academically and athletically. She's the total package and we're really going to miss her next year."
